Maddie Van Cleve

I received my BA from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in English literature and French, and I am currently pursuing a masters in LA with a focus on ecological restoration. My graduate research is a field study in prairie restoration looking at how to increase the diversity of early-blooming forbs in Midwestern prairies. I am also interested in ecological restoration in Wisconsin’s other natural communities–particularly oak savanna, oak woodland, and wetland–and the affect of the spread of invasive species across habitats and through time. I enjoy participating in managed burns, and tracking the recovery of the vegetation. I am also a teaching assistant in Landscape Architecture
