Are you interested in learning how to analyze and design exterior environments?
LA 201 explores the basic design process and skills used in Landscape Architecture,
a growing interdisciplinary profession that integrates with Architecture, Civil Engineering,
and Urban Design. In this studio course, you will learn how to perceive and analyze
exterior space, and how designers think and navigate the design process in both
two and three dimensions. You will develop drafting, drawing, and spatial analysis
skills as a way to best create sustainable, human-scaled spaces in a variety of exterior
settings. This course is one of the prerequisite foundation requirements for entrance
into UW’s Landscape Architecture program but is open to all students.
